About

Welcome to Staying on the Sunnyside.   I’m glad you’re here!  This blog is a compilation of the many aspects of my life.  For over 10 years (prior to marrying my husband, Luke) I’ve operated a freelance design business specializing in web development for small businesses and non-profits.  Since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to raise a family and be a stay-at-home mom just like my Mom was… and the design business has allowed me to accomplish that.

When my blue-eyed boy and girl came along, I realized the task of juggling little ones and keeping my clients happy wasn’t quite as simple as I had always imagined.  My daydreams of picnic lunches and perfect family moments were interrupted by deadlines and not enough hours in the day.  Sometimes my head is so full of code and if-then-else statements I can barely think!  So… I’ve stepped back a bit (as scary as that can be financially).  I do still take on design projects…  just not ones that have me filling out pages of RFP’s and hour long conference calls.   So in an effort to get my priorities in line, I’ve started this blog as well as an Etsy shop with my invitation designs (which I have so much fun creating!) Because I realize that when I’m happy, my kids are happy.  And when I can share a fun activity we did, or a yummy recipe we had for dinner, it makes me feel a little more accomplished.

I hope you find something here at Staying on the Sunnyside that brightens up your day.
