Free Mother’s Day 2020 Printable – Hand Lotion Gift

13th Feb 2020

My kiddos are blessed with so many wonderful women who love them and are always there for them! Last Mother’s Day I designed this vintage floral card to give to each of their Grandmoms and Aunts, and then we picked out some pretty hand lotions to go with them for a fun little token to show our love and appreciation. HAND’S DOWN You’re the Best (Aunt, Nana, Mom…) Around!  (Get it? I hope so! 😂) Download the free printable file (updated for 2020!) HERE This file is for personal and non-profit use only. You may not sell an item made […]

Easy Vintage Inspired Soap Bottle Labels with Cricut

19th Feb 2019

We recently installed the countertops and pretty white sink we purchased last February (yay!) and I wanted to update our plastic hand soap bottle a bit.  This was a quick little project using Cricut Removable Vinyl.  I love this stuff! I have used it on our chalkboard panty door during the Holidays and it looks great and removes easily. You can access both of my files in Cricut Design Space here!  I also used: 16 oz Amber Glass Bottles with pumps: Cricut Removable Vinyl: Cricut Vinyl Transfer Tape: Cricut Explore Air 2 in Mint: I uploaded my file to Cricut […]

Chalkboard Pantry Door Update

24th Nov 2018

I’m excited to share this little project we completed over the weekend.  Originally we had hoped to replace the pantry door with a door from Luke’s old family farmhouse.  Unfortunately it was just too damaged so we went with plan b and I do really love how it turned out.  The new door is a 1-Panel Hollow Core Slab Door from Lowe’s. Luke used a router jig (also from Lowe’s) and the old door as a template for the hinges. Color-wise I was trying to coordinate with my favorite little vintagey radio… as you can see in the before pic […]

Frames for my vintage art prints

15th Mar 2018

In my previous post about our kitchen update I shared that I have some vintage ad reproductions I wanted to incorporate. Luke finished frames for them this weekend and I am in love! And the bonus is the total cost was $0 as we had the boards and the stain already. Luke cut the boards and angles, my Dad cut the dado groove in the backside to hold the glass (we used glass panel molding to make it super easy) and Levi then had a little fun distressing them. Luke then stained them in our favorite Minwax Early American stain. […]

Salmon BLT’s

23rd Feb 2018

These Salmon BLT’s are one of my favorite meals. They are easy to make and you can change them up in so many ways. Right now I’m loving them on Panera Bread’s Tomato Basil bread, but Rye Bread, Potato Bread, Sourdough… all yummy!  Sometimes I make a garlic mayo, other times I’ve added a little sriracha for Luke and I.  You can also change up the way you season your salmon. It sounds a little wonky, but my favorite seasoning for these is Harry & David’s Hamburger Spice Rub.  Luke’s favorite is Old Bay! Both are great, but you can […]

Have you tried Grove Collaborative?

21st Feb 2018

I stumbled upon Grove Collaborative the other night while trying to find someone who had my Mrs. Meyer’s Baby Blossom Laundry detergent in stock. They had it, and it was less than what I normally pay for it! Grove was also offering free gifts with your purchase and I received everything pictured, shipped to me just two days later, for only $25! I normally pay around $16-18 for the detergent so this was a great deal. The free items were: Grove Glass Spray Bottle with a Silicone Sleeve (this bottle is beautiful!) Mrs. Meyer’s – Hand Soap in Mint (love […]

Updating our green and yellow kitchen!

20th Feb 2018

Guess what? I/we inadvertently started our kitchen update!  😀 Here is where we started, a little over a year ago, DAY ONE – moving day! (Hence all the clutter everywhere, the two dressers and potted trees sitting in the kitchen….) And below is my inspiration board for the space.  Live edge shelves for all of my vintage bottles and glassware, white subway tile, pendant lighting and two of my favorite vintage ads on the back wall (hoping to fit a little breakfast nook back in that corner). The flooring pictured is Mannington’s Deco in Wrought Iron (same brand we used […]

A favorite things party invitation

9th Jan 2018

Have you heard of a Favorite Things party? Recently, a customer requested I customize one of my mason jar bridal shower invitations for this type of event. It’s such a sweet idea and a great way to celebrate a birthday or just for a fun girls night! Basically you set a price limit and everyone brings a (specified quantity) of one of their favorite things! And everyone leaves with each other’s favorite things! I think I’d bring either my favorite Amlactin body lotion recommended by my dermatologist (it’s amazing) or for a kitchen theme it would definitely be a kitchen […]

The Art Gallery… aka the Foyer

28th Oct 2017

One of my priorities in our new house was to make sure we have a place to display the kids artwork. In the past I’ve used frames… but actually changing out their masterpieces happened very rarely! Browsing Amazon I came across this set of jute twine and mini clothespins.  We hung two strands with old fashioned nails. I then worked with Nana’s Little Nest to create this amazing custom sign! We finished it with 2 coats of Rust-oleum Hammered Spray Paint in Dark Bronze. The light fixture was also changed out for this galvanized farmhouse style one… only $20!! Here is […]

Main Bathroom Reveal!

26th Oct 2017

Our main bathroom / kids bathroom is the first project we tackled upon moving in! Updating the sink and replacing the toilet and fixtures was a priority. I wanted to give the space a fun vibe since it’s for the kiddos,  yet stay true to the rustic/farmhouse feel we envision for the rest of our home. Here are the before pictures, days after moving in:     And here is my inspiration board for what I envisioned! I *almost* went with the flooring pictured in my inspiration board. It’s a vinyl flooring by Tarkett I’ve seen featured on a few […]
