Staying on the Sunnyside

Keeping on the Sunnyside of Life

The Art Gallery… aka the Foyer

October 28, 2017

foyer3

One of my priorities in our new house was to make sure we have a place to display the kids artwork. In the past I’ve used frames… but actually changing out their masterpieces happened very rarely! foyer5Browsing Amazon I came across this set of jute twine and mini clothespins.  We hung two strands with old fashioned nails. I then worked with Nana’s Little Nest to create this amazing custom sign! We finished it with 2 coats of Rust-oleum Hammered Spray Paint in Dark Bronze. The light fixture was also changed out for this galvanized farmhouse style one… only $20!!

Here is the before! foyer1 foyer2  foyer4 The foyer has also become our “reading nook” with a bookshelf and this fun hammock chair. On days when the front door can be open the perfect breeze seems to always be coming through… who knew the foyer could be one of our favorite spots! We also have three of these tree floor cushions. The kids love these and believe it or not I’ve found them all sitting and reading more than once! The cushions are also quite handy for the “hot lava” game. 😀 swing Source list:
