Dinnertime Sweet Tea

March 5, 2013

Every girl of the south has her own way of making sweet tea.  Over the year’s I’ve simplified my method and now am in the habit of making a small 2-quart pitcher each night while I prepare dinner.  It’s perfect each and every time and super simple.

Ingredients

  • 2 Family Size Tea Bags or 5 Regular Size, I prefer the Luzianne brand, but use what you have
  • 2 Cups Water + ~6 cups
  • 2/3 Cup Sugar

Instructions

  1. Fill Large Glass Measuring Cup with 2 cups water.
  2. Microwave on high for 2 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, place tea bags in your 2 quart pitcher.
  4. Pour your hot water over the tea bags.
  5. Let steep while you prepare dinner, at least 15 minutes.
  6. Using a large wooden spoon, remove your tea bags.
  7. Add 2/3 cup sugar and stir until dissolved.
  8. Fill the rest of your 2 quart picture with water (approx. 6 more cups)
  9. Pour over full glass of ice.

Notes

*You could certainly cut down on the amount of sugar if desired.
